Coatings such as titanium nitride (TiN) can further enhance surface hardness and reduce friction.

Common Press Brake Tooling Shapes

Press brake tooling comes in a vast array of shapes and sizes, categorized primarily into punches (top tools) and dies (bottom tools). Common shapes include:

• V-Punches and V-Dies: The most common type, used for creating angular bends. The angle of the V (e.g., 30°, 45°, 60°, 90°) and the opening width of the die determine the bend angle and inside radius.
